Seychelles was one of the pioneers in this initiative, although it has recently revised its policy, impacting Nigerians. Despite this, other nations are progressing with similar efforts. The Gambia has positioned itself as a visa-free destination for travelers from select countries, with hopes of attracting more visitors and fostering inclusivity.

Benin has taken a notable step by abolishing visa requirements for all African nationals, demonstrating a strong commitment to continental solidarity. Kenya shares this vision and is working towards removing all visa barriers for African citizens by the end of 2023, reflecting a forward-looking approach to regional integration.

Rwanda’s announcement of visa-free entry for all Africans further cements the growing trend of open borders within the continent. With five out of fifty-two African countries now offering unrestricted visa-free access to all African travelers, there's a clear indication of a shift toward more open policies. This trend, while still in its nascent stage, holds the promise of a more connected and accessible African continent, and could inspire more nations to adopt similar policies.
