Beyoncé's SirDavis Whisky: A Blend of Tradition and Innovation

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has introduced a new whisky brand, SirDavis, created in collaboration with Moët Hennessy. This Japanese-style whisky aims to blend personal history with contemporary elegance.

Named after Beyoncé’s great-grandfather, Davis Hogue—a moonshiner during Prohibition—SirDavis reflects a deep personal connection. The bottle features a tall, rose gold design with rounded fluted edges, which diverges from traditional whisky packaging. This unique design aligns with Beyoncé’s vision of merging femininity and masculinity.

SirDavis is crafted with a mix of 51% rye and 49% malted barley. The production process includes aging in American oak barrels and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, resulting in flavor notes of honey, brioche, orange marmalade, and toffee. This dual aging process aims to appeal to both casual drinkers and whisky enthusiasts.

The whisky is finished, blended, and bottled in Texas, though it draws on Japanese and Scottish influences. Dr. Bill Lumsden, head of distilling and whisky creation at The Glenmorangie Company, which oversees SirDavis production, described the challenge of aligning the whisky with Beyoncé’s taste.

SirDavis will be priced at $89 per bottle and will be available for pre-sale online starting August 20, with an official launch on September 4. The initial release will include select U.S. states and international cities such as London, Paris, and Tokyo, as well as duty-free shops at major airports.

The launch of SirDavis continues Beyoncé’s association with LVMH, complementing her existing relationship with Champagne Armand de Brignac, co-owned by her husband, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.
