Spotify has renewed its partnership with "The Joe Rogan Experience," securing a deal reportedly worth up to $250 million. This agreement marks a shift from the podcast's previous exclusivity on Spotify, as it will now also be accessible on other platforms like Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and YouTube. This strategic move is part of Spotify's broader distribution approach initiated in 2023, aiming to reach a wider audience across various services.
Under the terms of the new deal, Spotify will continue to manage distribution and advertising sales for Rogan's show, ensuring its presence across multiple platforms. Rogan is set to receive a guaranteed minimum payment from Spotify, alongside a portion of the advertising revenue generated.
"The Joe Rogan Experience" has been a top performer on Spotify since becoming exclusive to the platform in 2020 through a deal initially valued at over $200 million for 3.5 years. The podcast has maintained its position as the most popular show on Spotify for three consecutive years, with Edison Research's Q3 2023 survey highlighting its dominance in the podcasting space.
