Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his G-Unit Film and TV production banner are partnering with Lionsgate to launch a new free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel called 50 Cent Action.
The channel is set to cater to action enthusiasts by leveraging Lionsgate’s extensive library of over 20,000 titles. This includes popular films such as The Expendables, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and Rambo, along with a collection of movies featuring Jackson himself. Additionally, the channel will showcase the original Power series, which Jackson executive produces and has expanded into a successful franchise.Jim Packer, Lionsgate’s President of Worldwide Television Distribution, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “50 Cent’s movies and television series are synonymous with non-stop action. We’re thrilled to extend our longstanding partnership into the FAST space. This channel will offer 50’s global fan base a rich selection of action-packed content while introducing him to new audiences worldwide.”With over 100 million followers across various digital platforms, Jackson will play a pivotal role in promoting and curating the channel, which will also feature behind-the-scenes content involving the star. Jackson expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting, “This is a natural extension of the work we’re doing at G-Unit Film and Television and G-Unit Studios. This channel will bring diverse, action-packed content to audiences everywhere, reflecting my passion for storytelling and providing a platform for fresh, dynamic voices.”In addition to Power, Jackson also serves as an executive producer on the Lionsgate and Starz crime drama BMF. His impressive accolades include over 30 million record albums sold, a Grammy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and numerous Billboard Music Awards, among others.50 Cent Action is the latest addition to Lionsgate’s portfolio of FAST channels, which includes options like Ebony TV and MovieSphere, the latter being the first FAST channel rated by Nielsen.
